Dear Interested Volunteer Team Member,

The Charles Schwab Cup Championship will be held at Phoenix Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona from November 7 – 11, 2018. This is the event’s second year at this venue and we are excited to continue the partnerships within the Phoenix/Scottsdale community.

The PGA TOUR relies on more than 100,000 volunteers each year to run events. It takes hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours of support to ensure the success of the Charles Schwab Cup Championship (CSCC). The PGA TOUR has surpassed $2 billion in charitable dollars generated by its tournaments. We thank you for your support and impact of giving back to the local community.

Volunteer spots are assigned on a first come, first serve basis, therefore only a handful of opportunities are available to delayed registrants. Our best suggestion is to become a tournament volunteer NOW. Even if your preferred committees are not available, please note your waiting list preference and any other pertinent information in the notes section of the application. This way, if someone drops out and a spot becomes available, you will have a better chance of switching to your desired position.

To reserve your place as a 2018 Volunteer for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, please note the following:

Volunteer Registration: Please complete and submit your online application form with your payment. Your volunteer package payment allows us to offset costs and thereby donate more funds to the local charities. THANK YOU for assisting in this endeavor. Youth volunteer packages are offered free of charge. Volunteer spots cannot be held without payment.

Registration Payment Update:
  • If you are a returning 2017 tournament volunteer and you are an early-bird register on or prior April 15, your volunteer package cost is $55.00.
  • If you register after April 16, volunteer package cost is $60.00.
  • After your application has been submitted, you will receive an email summarizing your application. Once the tournament staff has reviewed and approved your application, you will receive a second email confirming the committee for which you have been assigned. Your Committee Chairman should be in touch with you by mid-September to coordinate your volunteer schedule.
  • Refunds will only be given for emergency situations. Refunds will not be given after October 20.
Volunteer Committee Assignments: You may choose three (3) committee preferences, but you will only be placed in one committee. We cannot guarantee assignments, but we will make every effort to accommodate your first preference. Please be sure to read the Committee Descriptions to ensure that you understand the time commitment for certain committees.

  • Youth volunteers must be between 13-18 years of age.
  • Presently enrolled College or University Student are to receive a complimentary Volunteer Package.
  • Adult volunteers must be 18 years of age to participate and are required to work shifts on a minimum of three (3) days assigned by your Committee Chairman. Shift lengths vary between committees. All Volunteers are required to provide availability for at least one (1) weekday and one (1) day on the weekend.
Volunteer Apparel: All volunteers, committee chairmen and division chairmen are required to purchase and wear the Official Volunteer Uniform package which includes a golf shirt, jacket, and matching headwear. It is your responsibility to provide your own khaki colored bottoms (pants/shorts/skorts/capri pants) of appropriate length. You must wear the 2018 Charles Schwab Cup Championship uniform regardless of weather conditions. Rain gear may be worn on top of the uniform, should conditions warrant it. The 2018 volunteer uniforms (golf shirt and outerwear) are Greg Norman brand, which is a change from the 2017 uniforms. Greg Norman shirts and pullovers run true to size and suggest ordering appropriately. We HIGHLY suggest you review the size charts and photo comparisons between the 2017 and 2018 uniform sizing (CLICK HERE).

Volunteer Badge: Your Volunteer badge will admit you to the tournament (Monday through Sunday). It serves as your ticket into the Admission Gate and allows access into your designated place of assignment. While your badge should be worn every day that you attend the tournament, your volunteer uniform should ONLY be worn on the days you are volunteering.

Volunteer Party: More details will be distributed soon about the Volunteer Party.

Volunteer Meals: Every volunteer will receive one meal voucher per working day which can be redeemed throughout the day at various locations. During the morning hours, coffee, tea, soda/water and breakfast foods for volunteers are complimentary at Volunteer HQ.
